We are so excited to welcome you to our Coffee Chats, where you get a chance to meet our sisters, share genuine conversations, and experience what makes aKDPhi feel like home. For us, sisterhood has always been built in the little moments: heartfelt talks, late-night encouragement, and friendships that continue to grow and blossom into every stage of life. It is through these simple moments that we found a community that inspires us, supports us, and reminds us that we never have to grow alone.
As we prepare for our Fall 2026 formal recruitment period, we are hosting Coffee Chats throughout Spring and Summer 2026 to give you all a space to ask questions, hear our stories, and discover our core values and pillars that make our chapter so special. No matter where you are at in your journey, we want you to feel welcomed, valued, and inspired from the very first hello.

Not at all! We are an Asian-interest, but not Asian-exclusive organization. alpha Kappa Delta Phi does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, age, national origin, or sexual orientation. We are an all-inclusive sorority. We welcome any woman who aligns with our values and is interested in joining a supportive, empowering community—regardless of her cultural background.
Our sisterhood is built on the diverse experiences and perspectives of each member, with every woman contributing her own unique voice and story. We encourage driven, passionate individuals who want to grow, give back, and make the most of their college experience (and post-graduation!) to attend recruitment or explore starting a chapter.

“Rush” (also called recruitment) is the period when a sorority or fraternity hosts events for people who are interested in joining. It’s basically a chance for you to meet members, learn about the organization’s values and culture, and see if you connect with the community. Most commonly seen as a week-long period of events, attending these events are free and non-binding!

Not all events are mandatory, however we do encourage coming to any and all rush events in order to gain the best understanding of our organization.

A “bid” is a formal invitation from the chapter to join. In order to receive a bid, you must meet the chapter’s minimum requirements to join, as well as attend their recruitment events. Prospective members must be enrolled full time and have a 2.5 unweighted GPA.

Yes, and we encourage incoming freshmen to explore FIU! As an incoming freshmen, you must have a 2.7 unweighted high school GPA in order to rush.
